Ronel Kappes
Ronel Kappes extensive global metallurgical process development expertise together with her leadership experience including senior management and as a leader at both local and national trade association committees and boards makes her uniquely qualified to serve on a public board.
Ronel Kappes is Director – Processing with Newmont Corporation, supporting the company’s global flotation operations portfolio, including providing operations support and subject matter expertise for flotation- focused development studies. She participates as metallurgical representative in due diligence efforts as required. In her previous role, as Process Manager, she was also responsible for West African studies (early stage development) and operational support.
Previously Ronel was the Director of Newmont Metallurgical Services (NMS), and as such was the business process lead for metallurgical process development test work, supporting greenfield, brownfield studies/projects and mergers and acquisitions. She managed a large technical team and was responsible for development and implementation of the metallurgical research and development strategy.
Prior to her role as Director of NMS she was the global Senior Technical Advisor for global flotation technology and operations support. As the subject matter expert in flotation she pioneered and patented a new flotation technology from research and development to operational trials and was also responsible for process improvements at a number of operations in Australia, Indonesia and within the USA.
Ronel has her board certification from Corporate Directors International LLC, USA. Her designation, CDI.D, recognizes her as a qualified corporate board candidate for a public or private board.
