Sally Sommers
Sally Sommers’s extensive experience advising Boards and CEOS on global human capital management, ethics, M&A, and restructuring risks in 59 countries qualify her to serve on public and private boards, including risk management, governance, and compensation committees.
Sally Sommers is a seasoned executive corporate attorney transitioning to work as a corporate director. In her twenty years as C-Suite corporate counsel for Fortune 500 financial leaders, The Western Union Company and First Data Corp., and their foundations, she has been a trusted advisor to corporate boards of directors, CEOs, and executive management on matters of global expansion, M&A, and risk management matters, as well as serving on the risk, ethics, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) committees. She is an expert in global human capital management (HCM). Sally is respected for anticipating trends in complex global environments and her skill in identifying and mitigating risk. Her unique combination of business and employment acumen and leadership positions have provided her valuable experience in dealing with many issues facing boards today such as global HCM, union workforces, global restructurings, talent management, ESG, DEI, and M&A.
At present, Sally is a Founding Board member and Program Committee Co-Chair of the Private Directors Association (PDA), Colorado Chapter. Sally holds a board of trustee position with the Iliff School of Theology and serves on the DEI and Trustee Affairs Committees. She is interested in expanding into private or public company board work in global markets, leveraging her business, risk, and human resources expertise. Sally is targeting roles in the Compensation and Nom /Gov Committees where she has already excelled professionally.
Ms. Sommers has a Juris Doctorate from St Louis University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in English from the University of Notre Dame. She is currently a Global Employment Consultant and Board Advisor.
