"Michelle is an accomplished business owner and expert in commercial real estate, mostly in health care facilities and hospitals, with over 20 years experience in the industry. She completed her ACE Board Certification in June this year and is ready to serve on corporate boards. I would say it is a distinct pleasure to work and know Michelle Brokaw. She is an impressive leader and was recently recognized by the Denver Business Journal's Outstanding Women in Business Award for 2020.

Michelle is also the Chair of the Board of Rocky Mountain Adventist Healthcare Foundation and the Littleton Hospital Foundation. In the DBJ interview, Michelle shared some of her personal experiences regarding Covid and the challenges of leading her company and clients in the early onset of the Pandemic. Here is what she said-

What was Your Proudest 2020 accomplishment?: 'Keeping the wheels of commerce turning in my sphere of influence during the early Covid restrictions. As we all prepared to work remotely, my first focus was the health of employees and stakeholders. Next, our focus was to fortify our ability to pay vendors and execute on new business. Many vendors expressed their gratitude because FSB helped them keep their doors open. While other clients were cancelling contracts, FSB was doing business, regardless of the pandemic. It meant we had to rethink how we operated, how we stayed safe and what the priorities were — but we made it work and kept moving. We made it through the last six months with no layoffs, no contract cancellations and, to-date (knock on wood), no sick employees!...' "

Currently the Chief Executive Officer and owner of Fleisher Smyth Brokaw LLC and FSB Property Management. Responsible for the firm's strategic direction, investment strategy, investor relations, and capital sourcing. Michelle's real estate career spans more than thirty years and includes experience in commercial real estate acquisition, development, finance, leasing, and asset management. Founding member of CREW Denver, Commercial Real Estate Women and elected Chairperson of the organization at age 27. In 2001 selected by the Denver Business Journal as a recipient of its pres­tigious “40 under 40” award. Also in 2001, served as chair of Bro­kers Benefiting Kids which has now raised over $2,000,000 to benefit Colorado’s children “at-risk”.

Earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado, Boulder and majored in real estate and minored in finance and has a Masters Degree in Business Administra­tion with a finance emphasis from the University of Denver.

Michelle has her board certification from Corporate Directors International LLC, USA. Her designation, CDI.D, recognizes her as a qualified corporate board candidate for a public or private board.
