Marie-Soleil Lacoursiere

Marie-Soleil Lacoursière’s experience in global business, sustainability and as a long-term Northerner qualify her to serve on a public board, including audit and risk committees, as well as investment.


Marie-Soleil is a Northerner and accomplished businesswoman with a successful career in the private sector and nearly two decades management experience. She is currently in a senior global role in the mining industry with engineering and high-tech multinational Sandvik in addition to being a director on several corporate boards, including the Business Development Bank of Canada where she is in the investment committee thus overseeing Canada’s largest venture capital portfolio at over $7bn of direct and indirect investments. An alumna of the University of Oxford, among several others, she is a highly decorated academic and a pioneer in sustainability, having spear-headed the concept of the Social License to Automate in the mining industry. She also holds an ESG designation for Board members from the Competent Boards Institute.
