Chantal Da Silva’s valuable international legal expertise and executive leadership experience qualify her to serve as an independent member on a public company or private company board of directors, including corporate governance, nominating, compensation, ESG and risk standing committees, in addition to executive management committees.


Chantal Da Silva is a business-oriented and results-driven corporate lawyer, with rich international experience having practiced corporate law for 17+ years as a solicitor and senior in-house counsel in North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, and Africa. She is an executive leader, bilingual (English and French) with expertise in the extractive sector covering all phases of the mine life cycle from exploration to project development and operations.

Chantal is the Former Vice-President of Legal Affairs, Company Officer, and Member of the Executive Committee of Teranga Gold Corporation, a publicly listed international mining company, based in Toronto, Canada. In this role, she also served as Chair, Company Director, and Corporate Secretary to the company's local affiliates (10+) and directed the Legal Compliance function at the subsidiary level. Throughout her legal career, Chantal has developed a track-record of advising publicly listed companies (TSX, ASX, LSE, NYSE), boards, and committees on a host of corporate governance, risk, ESG and compliance matters. She is a collaborative and trusted business partner who leads by example and exercises good judgment. Chantal is passionate about finding value-added legal solutions that permit companies to meet their strategic objectives.
